This
compact disc features some of the most exciting music ever composed for the
clarinet. Melvin WarnerÕs original
release on LP was called Òa real find, one of the finest clarinet recordings
I have yet to hearÓ by Edward Tatnall Canby writing in Audio Magazine.
ÒIn SmithÕs and
MartinoÕs unaccompanied pieces, Warner is an artist É in his element –
fluid, stylish, and in complete command of the musicÕs considerable technical
difficulties, including frequent, large shifts in register.Ó Fanfare Magazine, Jan/Feb 2007
