“In Smith’s and Martino’s unaccompanied pieces, Warner is an artist … in his element – fluid, stylish, and in complete command of the music’s considerable technical difficulties, including frequent, large shifts in register.” Fanfare Magazine, Jan/Feb 2007
Melvin Warner is former associate principal clarinet of the Saint Louis Symphony and is clarinet and chamber music professor emeritus at Northern Illinois University. This compact disc features some of the most exciting music ever composed for the clarinet. Melvin Warner’s original release on LP was called “a real find, one of the finest clarinet recordings I have yet to hear” by Edward Tatnall Canby writing in Audio Magazine.

Leone Buyse is former principal flutist with the Boston Symphony. Michael Webster is former principal clarinetist with the Rochester Philharmonic and the San Francisco Symphony. Robert Moeling is an international soloist and chamber musician. They are now based at the Shepherd School of Music in Houston, Texas. The works are superb, exciting transcriptions by Michael Webster from four-hand piano literature. "World Wide Webster is a fine new offering...These three musicians play as one, and their sense of ensemble and creative interpretations define the essence of chamber music." Flute Talk "Performances here are excellent, with a seamless match between the two winds, and a coherent blend with Robert Moeling's buoyant piano textures. Recordings are very fine..."
