This CD includes some of the best and most important recent works for unaccompanied clarinet. Tasha Warren is principal clarinet with the Charlottesville Orchestra and is on the faculty of the University of Virginia. Previously she taught at Louisiana State University, and has been principal clarinet with the Columbus, Indiana, Philarmonic since 2004. She holds a BM, MM, and ABD Doctor of Music from Indiana University. Her teachers include James Campbell, Eli Eban, and Robert Listokin.

Danilo Lozano, a founding member of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, has recorded on all Hollywood Bowl releases. David Muller is former principal of the Mexico City Philharmonic and the Westwood Wind Quintet. This CD features some of the best music for flute and bassoon duo. Some of the works are standard repertoire and some are not very well known, but all are excellent music that has not been over-recorded.

John Holt is principal trumpet with the Dallas Opera Orchestra and trumpet professor at the University of North Texas. This is his sixth solo CD on Crystal. Mitchell Lurie, former principal clarinet with the Pittsburgh and Chicago Symphonies under Fritz Reiner, taught at the University of Southern California for 50 years, and is possibly the best-known clarinetist in the world. The Brahms Sonatas were originally on Crystal LP S301, which was one of CrystalÕs best selling LPs. Richard Lesser, one of LurieÕs prize students, was principal clarinet with the Israel Philharmonic for 35 years. This is the premiere recording of Daniel KesnerÕs Dances. Jordan Charnofsky has performed guitar with the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, in the World Festival of Sacred Music, numerous times at the Academy Awards celebrations, and for TV / film.

Joel Quarrington is probably the best-known soloist on the string bass in North America and probably the world. He was principal bass with the Toronto Symphony from 1991 to 2006, and is presently principal bass with the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa. He has performed solos throughout the world and performed with many of the worldÕs leading string quartets. Coenraad Bloemendal has performed solos with orchestras through Canada and plays with some of the best chamber ensembles in Canada. This CD presents duos by well-known names from the classical period as well as the world premiere recording (and performance) of a piece, based on themes by Bach, written especially for the duo by renowned award-winning composer and jazz bassist Don Thompson. The name ÒIn Memory of GlennÓ refers to Glenn Gould, with whom Bloemendal, Quarrington, and Thompson worked frequently. They were involved in the last recording that Glenn Gould did before his death.
