One of the most active and visible quintets in the Midwest, the Moran Woodwind Quintet is the resident faculty woodwind quintet of the University of Nebraska School of Music. Formed in 1986 and named for the late John Moran, Director of the School of Music, the Quintet has toured extensively and they have also performed at conventions of the College Music Society, the International Double Reed Society and the International Horn Society.

 Performed by the Moran Woodwind Quintet. Theodor Blumer's Schweizer Quintett; Kinderspielzeug, op. 64; and Sextett, op. 92, with pianist Paul Barnes. Theodor Blumer (1881-1964) writes in a Romantic style. He is a German composer who lived most of his life in Dresden, Leipzig, and Berlin.
