Leone Buyse is former principal flutist with the Boston Symphony. Michael Webster is former principal clarinetist with the Rochester Philharmonic and the San Francisco Symphony.  Robert Moeling is an international soloist and chamber musician. They are now based at the Shepherd School of Music in Houston, Texas. The works are superb, exciting transcriptions by Michael Webster from four-hand piano literature. "World Wide Webster is a fine new offering...These three musicians play as one, and their sense of ensemble and creative interpretations define the essence of chamber music.”Flute Talk "Performances here are excellent, with a seamless match between the two winds, and a coherent blend with Robert Moeling's buoyant piano textures. Recordings are very fine, and give a notably clear reproduction of Leone Buyse's distinctive, clear and, well, fluting tone..." Paul Ingram, Fanfare

This CD features works from the early part of the 20th century that were written for the remarkable French flutist Georges Barrère. Lyrical and exciting, these works have found their way into the repertoire of many flutists.

"A great instrumentalist naturally attracts composers...all of the works on this CD were written (by good composers!) for Barrère between the years 1897 and 1905. Magnifique... Buyse is just the woman for this job. This, then, is an excellent match of flutist and repertoire. This is warmly recommended to anyone who enjoys the flute, and who is looking for something a little out of the way, but not necessarily strange." Fanfare, January/February 2007

"Every serious flutist should explore this for the playing and repertoire. Simply put, this is what the flute should sound like. Non-flutists will also enjoy the elegance and lyrical beauty of this music. A must buy." American Record Review

"Leone Buyse plays this music with much love. Her interpretation is logical and convincing; the phrasing constantly has an emotional charge, from intense to simple. Her sound is splendid and supple, especially wonderful in the flowing, soft passages. Accurate and with effective use of timing, dynamic, vibrato and color. Outstanding duo playing; both musicians make the music completely comprehensible. Beautiful!  A CD whereby the players and the music earn great attention. We're waiting for the second CD, which is in progress."  Fluit (magazine of the Dutch Flute Association)
